How we give back

Advocacy, professional, and financial support.

Thirriwirri intends to make a real impact through advocacy, professional, and financial support to causes we believe in. The areas we are passionate about are First Nations identity and cultural renewal, early learning and literacy, healthy country and First Peoples leadership.

  • Go Foundation

Thirriwirri believe in the philosophy and work of the GO Foundation to support and encourage students on their education journey from primary school through to university. We know that the vision of Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, with the support of their Board and Staff will have genuine long-lasting impact for our young people. With our experience, professional skills, and networks, we will continue to advocate for and support the work of the GO Foundation into the future.

  • Bangarra Dance

As one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, Bangarra share our culture with Communities and audiences across Australia and the world, creating awareness and understanding of our rich and diverse First Peoples cultures. Thirriwirri believe the work of Bangarra Dance Theatre, their Board and staff tell important and impactful stories of and for our young people, our elders and our wider community. We look forward to continuing our support and advocacy for the work of Bangarra.

  • First Peoples Leading

We’ve partnered with Executive Central to deliver the First Peoples Leading program for leadership development and coaching. One of our primary objectives in this program is to pass on the knowledge gained by our team of highly experienced First Nations leaders who have worked at executive levels of government government and in community leadership to current and future leaders.

First peoples Leading currently delivers a suite of three tiered leadership programs.

  • Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation

Thirriwirri is proud to provide financial support and advocacy for the great work that the ALNF does, particularly around Early Learning and Literacy and First Languages programs. This is a new partnership but our values are strongly aligned and we are excited for the future.

  • Deadly Science

Thirriwirri believes in Deadly Science and the passion and energy that Corey Tutt has put into making STEM exciting and accessible to young first nations people. With our background in the management of Country and natural resource management, we see a tangible opportunity to work closely with Deadly Science in the ways that STEM contributes to healthy Country, healthy culture and healthy communities.

Thirriwirri is committed to supporting our community organisations wherever we can. We know that in order to do this, sometimes we need to provide our services at significantly reduced rates. We are happy to do this as we know when our organisations are strong, our communities are stronger.
